We Could Die Doing Anything, Might As Well Make It Exciting

Title of Art Piece: We Could Die Doing Anything, Might As Well Make It Exciting
Category: Drawing
Student/Artist’s Name: Maia Kome
School: Unalaska City School
Grade: 12th

Artist Statement: In this piece are two of my favorite original characters, Alexander Robisco and Elisabeth Pyruvae, who were inspired by characters from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and some comments from friends. I’ve always liked to combine objects and elements in my art to make something familiar but different. So when I was drawing these two they became amalgamations of the most striking components from the characters they were inspired by, glued together with elements entirely their own. This particular depiction of them is meant to show a scrap of their story, personality, and how they interact. This piece was sketched on printer paper and scanned into the computer to be inked and finished. Original size 15.25″x11.5″
