Artist Statement: The intention behind this piece was to create a utilitarian tea set that also allowed me to exhibit details through under glaze painting. I was inspired by the Delft Dutch pottery style with a scene of an American east coast light house to encapsulate my Pennsylvanian Dutch heritage. I hope viewers take away the nostalgia of summer vacations and feel the consecutive transition between the landscape and summer florals.
