(2nd Place – Jewelry/Metalsmithing)

I used the cuttlebone casting method to carve and sculpt the antlers for the piece and did a bezel setting for the piece in the middle. The most difficult part of this project was trying to create cemetery between the two sides; once you cast one piece in the cuttlebone you can no longer use that mold and must make another… This is where I faced most of my issues but was eventually successful in creating a mirror duplicate and then solder them on the opposing sides of the bezel. It took many hours and precise work but in the end I was relatively happy with how it turned out.
