Artist Statement: I started art as a form of therapy and restoration of my brain at a very young age-shorty after being diagnosed with ADHD. It’s something I can actually focus on, which puts me at ease because it’s normally very hard for me to focus. Painting in specific, is what I use to bring these foreseen ideas to life. I love testing mediums by mixing them with my acrylics; adding different textures and even smells, by using things like cinnamon and baking soda for a sensory explosion. I like my paintings to make people feel overwhelmed and at ease all at once. But most of all for them to experience the uncomfortable by using textures or smells they might not like. Why live a life of complacency and comfort without experiencing things that just might make you crawl out of your skin? It’d be a bore-my paintings would be a bore.
