Artist Statement: Alaska can feel isolating, but it is also a place of wonder and beauty. Oh, it’s Paton explores the introspection of winter and the loneliness that can come with adolescence. Being a teenager often means experiencing extreme emotions, from sadness to joy, anger to excitement, and anxiety to calm. This contrast is captured through the use of double exposure, visually representing the highs and lows of teenage life.
