Artist Statement: The meaning behind Yin and Yang is that even in great light, there is darkness; and even in great darkness, there is light. A dead leaf inhabits the “yang”/white section, while a pomegranate is thriving in the “yin”/dark section. The painting depicts a message of hope — our life is spotted by darkness, but even in that darkness, there is hope.
