Frog

Artist Statement: This piece that is being submitted is a formline design of a frog. I created this piece when I was going through a rough art block. Formline is an important form of art for me as a Tlingit student. I use it as a way of expressing my culture through art. The supplies that I used for this piece were colored pencils, transfer paper, and a graphite pencil. I first sketched one side of the frog then used the transfer paper to trace said side and mirrored the other side. To get the color pencil really opaque I colored really dark instead of keeping it light. I have continued my journey of art and expressing my culture through formline as I have sold some pieces and even started making traditional regalia for family and myself.
