Find the Among Us

Artist Statement: This ceramic slab container is my second ceramic creation from taking Ceramics 1. I had learned a lot about the ceramics making process and incorporated complex geometry. Wanting to incorporate both hard and soft edges, I found a balance that conveyed a slightly modern, yet smooth edges and lines of detail that I was happy with. After figuring out the geometry, I wanted to use sgraffito in contrast to the black and used flowers and plants to soften the balance of a dragon. Within the plants and dragon, I added an additional detail of an Among Us character and named the artwork “Find The Among Us” In order to draw the viewer to notice the details while looking for the Among Us and adding depth.
