Dia de los Muertos

March 7, 2014 ASAA

WhiteAutumn1

Title of Art Piece: Dia de los Muertos
Category: Ceramics – 2014
Student/Artist’s Name: Autumn White
School: East Anchorage High School
Grade: 12th
Artist Statement: As my first time sculpting, I decided to stick with what I know and loosely created a skull. It was inspired by the Mexican holiday “Dia de los Muertos” or Day of the Dead, a holiday that I grew up around. I wanted to create something familiar and something I was comfortable with creating.
Artwork Dimensions: 3 inches by 5 inches wide by 4 inches tall
