Despair

Artist Statement: With my art piece I wanted to convey my message of how I felt most of my sophomore year in high school. I would show this with the exaggerated, long, and tired face. I also wanted to show my underlying anger that would grow over time with the orange and red of my eyes and skull. The outermost layer is what everyone else sees, but this picture is of me letting it all show. At first it was going to be more focused on me feeling alone, but I decided to focus more on what I really felt. I felt heavy, weighed down by the world and still do. There’s so much responsibility with getting older and becoming a man.
