Dancing Lady

Personally, I have been striving to become better at using the watercolor medium. In this piece I believe I have achieved that higher understanding of how this medium works. I have done a lot of watercolors in the past yet this piece is my favorite. I believe it portrays how much I’ve grown as an artist. With this piece I wanted to try something new composition wise, so instead of using color on the entire piece I wanted to tell a story with this picture. With the red square being at the top I tried to represent life, color and warmth; with the blue square being at the bottom I was hoping to portray the feeling of death and being deep underground.
