Celadon Serenity

Artist Statement: Throughout my entire pottery career, I’ve always struggled to come up with a creative glaze combinations. However, after texturing this piece using a technique called chattering, I knew that I had to use a celadon glaze to really highlight the texture. This piece was the first successful step in many on my glazing journey. Since then I have found a great inspiration and admiration in the Ancient Chinese wears using Celadons and textures. I continue to texture my pieces and use celadon glazes. This combination truly showcases all the details that Celadon Serenity holds. As a senior, I hope that I can continue to use celadon glazes in college and throughout the rest of my pottery career, as well as continuing to texture my pieces and expand my creativity.
