Bones

Artist Statement: Bones are rigid and unmoving while the body is ever changing and fluid. I wanted to represent this through my ceramics. I created different bones and displayed them in a mobile. The bones are constantly in motion, always moving, but never changing their form. I combined basic wood working with my beading tradition. The bones are also layered with ink. I bought a cracking mid fire glaze. After the glaze firing, I sponged ink into the cracks to reveal them more. The colors are black and white, creating a stunning and bold scuplture.
