Blue and Grey

January is always the hardest month for me when it comes to battling seasonal depression. As a Gen-Z, we have this thing where we take a post-cry selfie and this one in particular was after having an argument with my parents about how they think mental illness wasn’t a real thing. This piece was inspired by the song “Blue and Grey” by Kim Taehyung which was a song about his depression and his longing to feel happier. Clearly I have included these colors into my piece, using a wet on wet technique to create this abyss surrounding me. After this picture was the one time I actually took a good look at myself and felt pretty.
