Grade: 11th
I carved this tray from a single log that had been split in half straight down the core. I began carving with an adze and chopped off bark and large chips of wood. From the adze, to a chisel with a tip only a few millimeters wide, I used many tools ranging in size while working on this. The wood was spalded which gave it the marbled design which adds character to the wood. Overall the project took four months to complete.
