A Hail Mary

Artist Statement: In this photo as you see there is a football player from Bettye Davis East Anchorage High School. This game was against the Bartlett Bears also known as the boot game. The boot game is a memorial game honoring a player that died around a decade ago. When I captured this photo I felt a feeling of awe and pride in my photography abilities. The way the sun shines onto the player really caught my eye, the warmth, his positioning, perfect. When I first started taking photos of sports I quickly found a liking to it. Although I also really liked taking photos of nature and landscapes. When I saw this photo I took it looked like the perfect balance of what I both enjoyed capturing.
