Artist Statement: This piece captures a moment of stillness in a place that feels both vast and deeply personal, reflecting my connection to the quiet, rain‑soaked landscapes that shape life in Alaska. By showing the figure from behind, I wanted to emphasize the feeling of stepping into solitude—of being small in a world that is overwhelmingly alive with mist, color, and movement. The soft greens, wet pavement, and distant hills create a sense of calm introspection, inviting the viewer to imagine their own thoughts in that space. This work is about finding peace in isolation, grounding yourself in nature, and recognizing the beauty that exists in the in‑between moments we often overlook.
