Black & White Teapot

Artist Statement: This year I spent a lot of time on the pottery wheel and wanted to challenge myself with something new. I decided to make a teapot and spent many hours keeping the pot moisture just right so I could attach the spot and fit the lid. It was definitely a learning process. I really liked the way it turned out, even the glaze was evenly applied and added to the shape of the piece. It was the first time fitting a handle to my pot and that also took some time to learn. This teapot jump started a journey into making larger and more complex forms on the wheel. I'm currently working on a 3 pound teapot and trying a new handle style that is more proportionate.
