A Story in Song

Artist Statement: “A Story in Song” was inspired by a photograph of my grandmother when she was younger. She has always been so kind and very loving, so I wanted to do a charcoal piece that shows that innocence through her eyes. The lettering in the background is of two Spanish songs, one that she would sing around her kitchen, and one that reminds me of her. I chose these Spanish songs, because I knew it was something that she could understand since she isn’t the greatest at English.
