Artist Statement: The Princess and the Queen of Boatingdale both visions of beauty, whimsy, and loyalty. They stand ready for their portraits and eager to start a new day in the kingdom.
Whenever I was younger I used to love the amazing worlds that were depicted through fairy tales and folklore. And since then I have picked up an artistic ability that lets me portray my own feelings towards them. With the majesties of Boatingdale and the wizardry surrounding them it brings me a sense of joy and wonder. Something cheesy, but very evident. I wish to have fun in the world that I, not only create, but live. In doing this, this piece shows my admiration for tudor period fashion as well as the arbitrariness of common tall tales. The piece depicts two cocker spaniels in tudor period garb and is made with acrylic paint and wood canvas.
