A Piece of Anchorage

Artist Statement: This pendant, created using a four-layer sweat solder technique with brass and copper, captures the essence of what home means to me. The design features the skyline of Downtown Anchorage set against the backdrop of the Chugach Mountains—a view that is both familiar and grounding. The contrast between the metals reflects the balance of city life and natural beauty that defines Anchorage: the crisp mountain air, the golden glow of the sun on buildings during winter, and the comfort of a city surrounded by wilderness. This piece is more than just a landscape—it’s a symbol of belonging, identity, and pride in where I come from.
