Artist Statement: This painting I have made is made of oil paint, which I have been practicing with for a while. It Is a portrait of Nurse Rached from One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest. I tried to capture the lifeless expression Nurse Rached is explained to have and the industrialness of the mental hospital that the book takes place in. The mental hospital Is not actually filled with pipes, it is what the narrator Chief Bromden hallucinates.
