Trees

Artist Statement: I threw this pot for my wheel challenger project, which it definitely was. I had to cut the pieces while regulating how hard or soft the clay was. It was difficult to cut a piece out and immediately have the fan on it so it wouldn’t start slumping. At the end, when it started to just be the little tree trunks holding the top, I was scared that it would fall. But thankfully it didn’t. I’m so proud of this piece because it did take so long and it looks exactly how I imagined it. Even the glazes turned out amazing.
