2nd Place – Multicultural Art

Title of Art Piece: Midnight Iris
Category: Multicultural Art – 2021
Student/Artist’s Name: Ally Grant
School: West Valley High School
Grade: 12th
Artist Statement: These took me about 9 months from start to finish. The fur is dyed Muskrat. When I first started the beading, I was not happy with the the original design/beads.. I kept going thinking it may get better or I may like it the further I got but that didn’t happen. I remembered taking a beading class after school in junior high and a similar thing happened. The teacher at the time told me there was nothing wrong with starting over. So that is what I did with these, and am happy I did.
