Spring Sights

April 10, 2017 ASAA

Title of Art Piece: Spring Sights
Category: Ceramics – 2017
Student/Artist’s Name: Shirley Zhu
School: North Pole High School
Grade: 9th
Artist Statement:

I tried to capture how spring tends to sneak up on you. You never really notice until you hear the birds chirping and the puddles splashing. You start to see brown mountains, buds, and patches of grass soon after.

This was my first time working with ceramics and glazes. Though the clay was uneven in some parts, and the colors were a but darker than expected, I think it turned out pretty well.
