For this picture I was looking for a contrast between light and dark. It had been a pretty gloomy day up until this point. The fog coming off the river made the setting look very eerie. This is one of my favorite pictures I have taken.

My history class inspired me to explore different cultures because of the fall holiday that was coming up. I found the way that that culture celebrated life and the wealth of living very intriguing. I had never drawn a person before and that was the catalysts. I always thought I would not be able to draw people until I took my advanced art class.

To represent myself I combined a German Shepard with my own face with a lupine to represent the love I have for German Shepard and my Mom. I had never used watercolor or painted a lupine so it was a risk to put it on a nice drawing but it was worth it!
