This painting means a lot to me because it shows a time that I was challenged. I faced a lot of trial and error when painting this and it shows. I understood the general idea of the duck and how to paint it but I struggled with details. The female mallard has very precise feathers and I had to spend a lot of time working on each individual feather. I had to stay motived to keep working. This is my second year ever painting and you can see my growth as an artist in this painting. I’ve never painted water before, and I was nervous on how it would turn out. I would like to thank my mentor, Ms. Imboden for helping me through this challenge and for keeping me encouraged and thank you for this awesome opportunity to show my work.
