Artist Statement: In ceramics I really enjoy taking a simple traditional bowl form, and then completely breaking it up, adding to it, piercing it, cutting it, stretching it, and using it as a stage for my geometric visions. For this piece I wanted to create a kind of bridge that came from inside the bowl, but never quite reaches. I liked the juxtaposition between the triangles and circles that all seem to be climbing up and out. I finished it with a metallic finish to further accentuate the architectural feeling of the piece.
