Master of Camouflage

April 3, 2012 ASAA

Master of Camouflag

(3rd Place – Drawing)

Title of Art Piece: Master of Camouflage
Category: Drawing
Student/Artist’s Name: Autumn Fish
School: IDEA (Interior Distance Education of Alaska)
Grade: 12th

Artist Statement: Many frogs are excellent at camouflaging, but the Malaysian Horned frog has colors and markings that has given it a reputation of being one of the masters of camouflage. The tiger in the background shows the dangers that the Malaysian Horned frog faces in the wild. I wanted to capture this frog’s ability and the reason the art of concealment is so imperative in the amphibian world.<
