This art is a slight deviation from my normal style, as I mostly paint realistic portraits. For this piece entitled “Arbor Arabesque”, I wanted a more Van Gogh feel to the painting as I believe it emotes the quality of nature more than a realistic painting. The saturation and distribution of cool and warm colors are eye-catching from afar, making one feel they are peering into a window rather than simple canvas. Arabesque is a form of artistic decoration consisting of “surface decorations based on rhythmic linear patterns of scrolling and interlacing foliage, tendrils”. My painting breaks from the traditional art form; “Arbor Arabesque” is a modern freedom dance of trees.
